1. Data controller

2. Personal data we collect

When you use our service, we collect the following personal data:

  • Name and email address — provided by you on the questionnaire form, used to deliver your report.
  • Personality assessment responses — your answers to the questionnaire items. This constitutes special-category personal data under GDPR Article 9.
  • Payment reference — we receive a transaction confirmation from our payment processor, Paddle. We do not receive or store your card number or full payment details. Paddle collects and processes payment data independently as the Merchant of Record.

3. Sensitive data notice (GDPR Article 9)

Your personality assessment responses are special-category personal data (data revealing psychological characteristics) under Article 9 of the GDPR. We process this data only on the basis of your explicit consent, given by ticking the consent checkbox on the questionnaire form before submission.

You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at support@otterself.com. Withdrawal before report generation will prevent us from producing your report; we will issue a refund if the report has not yet been generated.

4. Purpose of processing

We process your personal data solely to generate and deliver your personalised personality report. We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.

5. Data processors

We share your data with the following third-party processors, each operating under appropriate data processing agreements:

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — your questionnaire responses are sent to Anthropic for AI-assisted report generation. Your data is not used to train AI models. Anthropic's infrastructure is primarily in the United States; this transfer is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under GDPR Chapter V.
  • Paddle.com Market Limited — our Merchant of Record, handling payment processing, invoicing, and tax collection. Paddle is an independent controller of payment data it collects from you. Please refer to Paddle's Privacy Policy for how they handle your payment data.

6. Data retention

  • Questionnaire responses and personality data are deleted within 24 hours of your report being generated and delivered.
  • Your email address and transaction reference are retained for up to 12 months for customer support purposes, then deleted.
  • Financial transaction records are retained for the period required by Czech accounting law (currently 5 years).

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request that we delete your personal data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal)
  • Lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: in Czech Republic: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (ÚOOÚ)
